GENERAL INFORMATION

Our school is a primary school situated in Promnik, a village in the Świętokrzyskie District, Poland. It is about 200 kilometers from Warsaw, the capital city of Poland, and 20 kilometers from Kielce, the region's biggest city.

The school  has now about 130 pupils at the age of 6-15. Primary schools in Poland are eight- classes schools. On average the classes in our school consist of 14 students. Groups of this size are large enough to offer kids the possibility to build friendly relationships. Still, these classes are not too large to teach them effectively. Students can benefit from a great interest from their teachers who are finely aware of their needs and capable to offer help to those in need.
There are 22 teachers working here. They are highly motivated, committed to their work and taking care of their constant self-improvement. Our teachers take part in different workshops and use various teaching methods. Students study all the basic subjects according to the national curriculum: Polish, Math, Science, Geography, Biology, History, Social Sciences, English, German, Physics, Chemistry, Art, Craft and Design, Music, Technology, PE, IT and RE.

INTEGRATION AS SCHOOL’S POLICY

Our students are very active in different areas of school life. Some take up extra sport classes, others learn languages or play chess as well as musical instruments, learn the basis of coding and robotics. Many of them are really talented. However, we also have many children from socially deprived backgrounds. Moreover, certain pupils come from low-income families while some students suffer from specific learning difficulties (dyslexia, dysgraphia, developmental delay, autism) . The policy of our school management is to integrate them with the rest of students. This forces the school community to develop the environment of integration, acceptance and support.

STUDENTS’ FORMS OF ACTIVITY

We are proud of our students running their organisations such as the Students' Council and School Caritas Club. These organizations often cooperate and organize help for the pupils who are in need of support. The Students’ Council’s responsibilities also include organizing school celebrations and some competitions.
There is a nice choir in our school too. Apart from that there are sports classes. The main discipline trained in these classes is football, but also volleyball and basketball. Some students of ours also practise karate, judo and chess in their free time. We are proud of them to be particularly engaged and often successful
NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS EXPERIENCE
The school staff is also experienced in realizing Erasmus (Be Creative with Erasmus 2018-2020,  A Longer Life on Earth 2022-2024,  Model United Nations 2023-2025) as well as Comenius projects. All of these projects enriched school life, gave the chance to organize numerous events through which both students and teachers developed their knowledge, skills and widen their horizons through international cooperation full of exchange of experiences. Moreover, in the years 2010 to 2012 our school coordinated Comenius Project  A healthy mind in a healthy body. We believe our team has the necessary skills to carry out the project goals, not to mention the fact, we are all curious about innovations in teaching methodology.
Our school participated in a national project "Kompetentny Nauczyciel, Kompetentny Uczeń" based on learning math, a foreign language and science as well as developing ICT skills. This project activities encourage both  teachers and students to work upon effective learning techniques and motivate to develop their scientific knowledge as well as problem solving skills.
Thanks to the national project mentioned above our students actively take part in ICT workshops, coding, robotics and Lego education both at school as well as outside school as we cooperate with educational centres such as Kielce Technology Park, Leonardo da Vinci Centre in our region or Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw. Students are highly motivated to develop their skills. On the project classes of English together with the teacher they use different creative techniques connected to integrating various fields of learning and activate thinking.

Also the Erasmus projects that we successfully realised during last two school years gave us a great motivation to learn English in an innovative way using NLP techniques and activating methods. Working now on an international project connected to learning foreign languages would be a great chance for us to continue and develop the innovative methodology and to help our students develop their skills.
Finally, the cooperation would give us the great chance to improve communication skills and the ability to express ourselves in a foreign language.
EXTRA CLASSES OFFERED BY TEACHERS
In addition to the curriculum the school offers a variety of extra-curricular activities and it organises various types of help for the pupils. The teaching staff is  organises extra activities such as different kinds of "after school clubs", study groups for those who want to improve their knowledge, tutorial meetings, or art workshops or drama club for volunteers. Diversionary activities are offered to pupils who are at risk of anti-social behaviour in order to engage them into positive activities.
SCHOOL EVENTS
Every year we organize such actions like Cleaning up the World, National Reading, Library Day or the World Environment Day. We organize Family Day with a nice festivity gathering lots of people from our area to enjoy folk bands’ performances, our students drama plays or take part in interesting competitions. Besides, our children prepare very interesting performances connected with different festivals celebrated in Poland (Christmas, Easter, Grandmother's and Grandfather's Day, Children's' Day etc.) and invite their families to come to school and watch them.
